Should I apply to a small IT firm?
By Gaurav, Section Ask Questions
I am a B.Sc. in Information Technology. After completing an IT certification course, I am looking for a System and Networking Administrator's job. Every company asks for work experience. Should I apply to a small company. Please advise. (HANISH)
A. Given the IT boom, every organisation requires people with IT experience and nowadays almost all companies need Systems and Networking Administrators. My advice is that you should not look at an IT company to start your career. You should focus your job-hunt on companies in the manufacturing and other sectors. These employers require IT professionals but find it difficult to retain them. So, there is always a demand for candidates. Initially, do not worry about salary or benefits. Concentrate on learning and make sure that you give your best. You will soon find that you can then decide on your career by yourself.
I am an M.Sc. in Maths. I prepared for government jobs but failed. I do not want to join a call centre. Are tuitions and teaching all that one could do? (HIMANSHU) Source- Times of India's power jobs, 17/10/06
