The university will introduce three MBA courses: in security management, large-scale systems as well as real estate and building infrastructure. It will also start four short-term courses of six-12 months duration on sports nursing, sports physiotherapy, sports medicine and sports journalism by the next academic session.
The varsity has also tied up with various city hospitals to develop the medical courses. "I have spoken with Batra Hospital for the nursing course, RML Hospital for the sports medicine course and the Indian Spinal Injuries Institute for sports physiotherapy and they are working on the modules,'' Vice-Chancellor K K Aggarwal said. The short term courses are specifically aimed at enhancing the skills of professionals like physiotherapists while the MBA courses are aimed at creating a pool of employable students. The response has been encouraging. "The university started the MBA on real estate and building infrastructure with 45 seats but because there was so much demand, we expanded capacity to 60 seats. The need of the day is employable courses''. (Source-Indian Express,14/12/06)
