By sachiv, Section Ask Questions
I am a BCA student at Maharshi Dayanand University. Is there good career scope for an MCA? If yes, then which are the best colleges for this in India? Is there much difference in an MCA programme from India and the US or Europe? Please tell me about some good colleges abroad. What is their minimum eligibility requirement?

For admission to an MCA programme you will have to clear an all-India entrance test. The IITs conduct the All India MCA Common Entrance Test (AIMCET) for the programmes offered by them and many leading universities and colleges. The list of institutions participating in AIMCET is available at www.iitr.ac.in/aimcet. The National Institutes of Technology hold the NIT MCA Common Entrance Test (NIMCET) for their MCA programme. There are hundreds of institutions offering the MCA degree and some states hold their own entrance test. The University of Delhi conducts an MCA programme open through an entrance test, while GGS Indraprastha University also holds its own test for admission to the MCA programme.
The MCA course in applied computer science is only available in India, and was specially designed to meet the growing demand for qualified professionals in the field of Information Technology However, you . can do an MS or MSc in computer science, or computer applications, in the UK, US and many other countries. While the focus of the courses and curricula may be different, you could still work in the IT sector. Admission to such courses is similar to the admission requirements for other Master's degree programmes in these countries. Source: Horizons, 22/10/2008
