They require a 98% in their best four subjects to get an interview call for English (Hons)

Only those with 96% and above from Commerce stream can apply to Economic (Hons)

Delhi University's St. Stephen's College declared the cut-off percentages for admission to its various courses on Tuesday.

Studying English (Honours) at St. Stephen's will not come easy for Commerce students since they require a high 98 per cent in their best four subjects to make it to the interview stage.

For those from the Science stream, the cut-off stands at 93 per cent, while students who have studied Humanities in school need 88 per cent for pursuing English (Hons).

The cut-offs are high for Economics (Hons) as well. Only those who have secured 96 per cent and above in the Commerce stream can apply for the course. For Science and Humanities students, it is 94.50 per cent and 94 per cent respectively.

For Commerce background students, History (Hons) too will be a little more difficult than the other two streams. A high 94 per cent is the pre-requisite to study this course for those having studied Commerce. While the cut-off is two per cent less for those from the Science stream, students from Humanities background have it much easier at 84 per cent. The cut-off percentage for B.Sc. (Computer Science) has seen a minor increase of one per cent from last year and has come to 91 per cent with the Physics-Chemistry-Mathematics (PCM) combination. Interestingly, Sanskrit has also seen a rise of two per cent this year and is at 63 per cent for all streams.

Students who have studied Science and Commerce at the senior secondary level will need 93 per cent and more for studying Mathematics (Hons) at the college.

For the B.A. (Programme), Commerce stream students again need much more than their counterparts in the other two streams to be called for the interviews. They need 91 per cent in their best four subjects. For students from the Science and Humanities background, the cut-off stands at 85 and 79 per cent respectively.

Those keen on taking up Physics (Hons) would need 92 per cent and more in the PCM combination, while for Chemistry (Hons) the cut-off is 87 per cent in the same combination.

The list of students selected for the interview will be put up on Wednesday. For admission to the first year, the college from this year will give a weightage of 15 per cent to the marks obtained in Class X as opposed to 10 per cent till last year. Thus 15 per cent will be reserved for Class X marks, 75 per cent for Class XII marks and 10 per cent for the interview.
