More relaxation is in the offing for OBC candidates seeking admission in Delhi University as per the second cut-off list. According to university sources, most of the Colleges have decided to reduce the cut-off for OBC students by 2-5 per cent in the second cut-off list keeping in view the dearth of OBC candidates coming for admissions.

Statistics show that even top colleges like Miranda House, Hindu College and Hansraj College could not admit more than 10 OBC students in the first phase.

"The cut-off marks for OBC candidates have been reduced significantly to fill up seats reserved in this category. Till date, we have been able to admit only seven students in this category," said Pratibha Jolly, Principal, of Miranda House College.

"The difficulty in getting caste certificate cannot be the reason. We are giving provisional admission to students who do not have proper caste certificate in their own name. It is possible that the students are looking for other career options than regular degrees," she added.

The College has reduced the cut-off for BA from 78 to 74 per cent for Humanities stream students.
