I am a B.A English (Hons.) graduate from the University of Delhi and have scored 45 per cent marks. I intend to pursue B.Ed. Can you tell me about relevant institutions?

A. University of Delhi's faculty of education offers a one year B.Ed programme for which you require a mini mum of 50 per cent in gradu ation. Admission is on the basis of an entrance test fol lowed by interview. In addi tion, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, also offers a one year B.Ed course for which you require 50 per cent in any degree, except for B.Com and vocational stud ies. As the teaching course requires much practical work, the B.Ed programme through distance education is only for in-service teach ers and those with at least two years of full time regu lar teaching experience in a primary secondary higher , , or senior secondary school recognised by the Central or state government. Universi ties offering B.Ed through the distance education mode include IGNOU (www.ig nou.ac.in) which has a re gional centre in Bhubanesh war and the Madhya Pradesh Bhoj Open Universi ty Nalanda Open University , and Kakatiya University , Warangal. If you do not have any teaching experience, it may be advisable to get some work experience.
