Students who took admission in June-July for further studies were given admission on provisional basis that they have to submit their mark sheet in August. Further, the deadline has been extended till mid-October but even that is not going to work because the results of SOL will be out by the end of October. Due to University’s delay, students are going to suffer as their admissions might get cancelled from their present colleges.

From 2008, University has started conducting the examinations of regular students as well as the correspondence students simultaneously in few courses. But the results of regular colleges are declared in July-August every year whereas the results of students who are pursuing their studies from SOL are declared late in September or October. The students who have given their final year exams of graduation course in 2009 are still waiting for their results. The delay in results is mainly going to affect the final year students as without their mark sheet, they cannot proceed for further studies. Even the Law Faculty of Delhi University has given the last date for submitting the mark sheets by October 15. The students of same university won’t be able to pursue further studies in the college of same university due to late results.

The school offers under graduate and post graduate degree courses in the subjects of Arts, Humanities and Commerce. The cancellation of admissions will result in the loss of a whole year of studies. When asked about when the results of BA final year will be out, the officials said that the results will be out around October 20 and the same is the case with other courses, the results will be out in the end of October.

Neha Kataria, student of SOL, BCom (Pass) final year said, “I had to take admission in MBA from Symbiosis centre for distance learning in Pune. But the results are declared late every year, so I haven’t filled the forms due to the fear that I might have to withdraw admission because of late results. Now I have to wait for a year to fill the forms again”.
