PROFILE | Established in 1964, Rajdhani College is one of the oldest colleges in west Delhi. It is a co-ed college offering courses in science, commerce and humanities. The college principal, Vijaylakshmi Pandit, says: ‘‘For the last so many years, we have been known for maintaining discipline. We conduct regular classes and have given toppers to the university in history and political science.’’

FACILITIES | The college has several plans for upgrading the infrastructure. Ramps are being constructed to make the building disabled-friendly. The library will be modified and the reading room will be made fully-air-conditioned in the next few months. A new computer laboratory for teaching the new curriculum in BSc mathematics will also come up soon. Besides, the college has a computer laboratory especially for ecommerce students. MATA SUNDRI

PROFILE | Mata Sundri College For Women offers courses in commerce and humanities. It was established in 1967 under the aegis of Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee. Principal Satnam Kaur says, ‘‘Our college emphasizes on strict discipline. At the same time, we think a little religion is necessary to drain out stress in life. We are doing really well in academics with good results every year.’’

FACILITIES | The college has an amphitheatre while an auditorium with a seating capacity of 700 is being constructed. A 2000-litre underground water tank ensures constant supply of water. The building is being made disabled-friendly with special toilets and the construction of ramps have been already completed on the ground floor. AMBEDKAR

PROFILE | Bhaskaracharya College of Applied Sciences is known for its science and technology courses. With strong industry link, most of the courses in the college are job-oriented. Acting principal Anil Bali says, ‘‘Our college offers applied courses in science that give students a chance to go for industrial training. After completion of the training, many students also take up a job at the same company.
