It aims expand the platform available to students and develop industry specific man power.

The film related courses would be carried out with the help of a tie-up with the filmmaker Subhash Ghai's Whistling Woods International in Mumbai which will help CBSE design the syllabus for the courses.

According to a source, "In order to equip teachers to impart courses on film making, Whistling Woods will help develop the curriculum as well as train teachers. Plus two level would be introduced with these new courses as electives and independent vocational streams in their curriculum."

Whistling Woods, in association with the Karnataka-based Manipal University, also offers India's first MBA in Media & Entertainment.

School-level courses on animation and design is also on the wish list of the CBSE.

As the CBSE offers a tie-up with the Tourism Ministry and the National Council of Human Management and Tourism, its schools would soon find courses on food production and beverages.

The Human Resource Development (HRD) Ministry is also working with the CBSE to launch a slew of other courses like insurance, accountancy and retailing.
